Erotic Museum Amsterdam
While Amsterdam's famous Sex Museum focuses on human sexuality and its development through the years and expression around the world, the Erotic Museum doesn't seem to take itself quite as seriously. Owned by the proprietors of Casa Rosso, the most notorious live sex show in the city, the Erotic Museum presents erotica and erotic art from all over the world. Works range from paintings from the distant past, to more recent expressions in a variety of media: paintings, sculptures, drawings, film, video, literature and even comic books.

The museum is particularly proud of an original sketch done by John Lennon. The five-story museum features a special exhibit of erotic fairytales (or, more precisely, erotic interpretations of classic fairytales) and an entire floor dedicated to Sado-Masochism. Another floor recreates a scene from one of the narrow streets of the city's Red Light District, including the original entrance to Casa Rosso. Group rates are available, and special programs are offered for serious students of the subject matter.
