Hotel Description

The Hotel Barbacan is a three-floor hotel located in a quiet residential are a of Amsterdam, 150 meters from Amsterdam Zoo. All 30 guestrooms have neutral décor with modern furniture and are equipped with safes, telephones and cable television. Twin, double and quadruple rooms are available, 14 of which benefit from showers in the bathrooms.
A pair of computers is situated near reception for guests wishing to access the Internet (surcharge) and there are business services in the form of fax and photocopying facilities. The hotel offers a currency exchange as well as having bicycles for rent, and multilingual staff are on hand to provide tour assistance. The 14 hectares of Amsterdam Zoo are worth a visit, as are the Botanical Gardens, found just 300 meters from the hotel. The sights of the Waterlooplein flea market and the Netherlands Maritime Museum are both within one kilometer of the hotel. The hotel is approximately 18 kilometers and a 30 minute drive from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. There is a railway station in the terminal's central hall, under Schiphol Plaza; direct trains run to Amsterdam Central Station approximately every 15 minutes. Schiphol Travel Taxis are available from outside the arrivals hall. Public buses also run regularly to Amsterdam and other cities.
